Global Learning Takes A Village: General Mills + Degreed

Stefanie Bell-Egge

Sr. Manager, Learning Design & Operations, General Mills

Jane Swenson

Client Success Manager Degreed

Speaker Bios

Stefanie and Jane's Bio Page
Stefanie worked at Target for 20 years, 12 of which were spent in Learning & Development and another 5 spent in HR technologies. She came to General Mills in September 2017 to create a vision about learning approaches (including technologies) that General Mills should use to support a global, 21st century employee – and then bring that vision to reality.

Jane Swenson, Client Success Manager at Degreed, is a customer advocate focused on helping General Mills and other Degreed clients drive awareness, adoption and engagement of learning technologies to inspire culture change and achieve desired outcomes. She has been with various SaaS talent development / management providers during her career of more than 20 years.

2017 was a pivotal year for General Mills.  Amidst change in leadership structure at General Mills, and after decades of a headquarters-centric focus, it was time for Learning and Development (among others) to shift to a truly global mindset. As such, the Talent Development L&D team needed to expand training offerings to 22 countries around the globe and in 6 languages - and to make the learning content accessible easily and quickly.

General Mills’ search for an accessible, intuitive, easy-to-use, and explicit learning technology tool ultimately led the company to partner with Degreed.  In this session, we will discuss how General Mills implemented Degreed successfully, and how partnerships were critical to that success.

Since we’re at the conference for ideas, Dawn will give you some great thoughts on where to start with a TA analytics play out of your shop. We’ll give you five great ideas and show you how to get started piecing the TA story together.

• A primer on what’s next once you start using TA analytics. You naturally understand the move to using analytics that help you predict the future is only half the battle—you have to have a plan once the predictions are made. We’ll help you understand the natural applications for using your analytics data as both a hammer and a hug—to get people who need to change moving, and to embrace those that truly want your help as a partner
