Mike Stankey’s presentation:  “HCM AND THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT”

Most currently deployed HR systems and ERP are built on core software that are as much as 20 years old. They were designed before the advent of the Internet, and before the time when even very small companies started operating worldwide. As organizations have evolved over the past 10-15 years, they've needed new capabilities.  However their HCM systems haven't kept up.  Companies have turned to add-on/bolt-on products to augment their HCM systems -- both to get the new functionality AND because upgrades of HCM tends to be so costly. Now the same technology that fuels major consumer websites like Amazon, Google and eBay is being put to use to deliver modern, agile HCM applications. ERP systems should deliver functionality that meets the needs of modern businesses - global, dynamic, etc.  Do modern ERP deployments:

·         look and act like modern websites?

·         work with iPhones and Blackberries?

·         perform ‘in-the-cloud”?

·         connect easily to other applications?

·         enable HR and business professionals to gain real insight into their organizations?

·         better align people?

·         help identify business opportunities?

Where is the HCM ERP marketplace at today and where will it be in 2, 3, or 5 years?

Leighanne Levensaler Presentation:  "HCM: A BRAND NEW DAY”

New technology and new ways of thinking create new capabilities that transform the HCM landscape.

Over the past 10 years, there has been a tremendous focus on 'strategic' HR, including Talent and Performance Management and Recruiting. These systems have enabled new levels of insight into the workforce, and enabled companies to better train and develop their people.  The next step in this evolution is at the intersection of Talent Management and the HCM system of record, through which organizations will be able to develop, manage and optimize their global workforce from recruiting and hiring through business results. HCM will evolve into a true business management platform, helping businesses align and manage their workforce capacity with market opportunities.  Question is, how long will it take?
