Starkey - Host Company Presentation

If “innovation” is the introduction to something new, the talent management innovations at Starkey Laboratories, a 42 year old manufacturer of hearing aid products, have sent a wave change to every corner of the company. TM innovation at Starkey includes: Talent Management Business Partners, Performance Management programs, and an A-Player recruiting process. Starkey HR has worked hard to drive innovation and deliver value -but at what cost?  We are stretching the capabilities of our management team, our employees and our budget.  Starkey’s TM group will share the inside story on obstacles faced and overcome and challenges to innovation still out there.

LinkedIn - Focus Presentation

At LEHRN on December 11th, Craig Butas, Sr Account Exec, assisted by LinkedIn clients from the Twin Cities, will present: “Emerging and Maturing Trends in Social Media: Finding the Professional and Strategic Context for Talent Management at Your Company”.

For companies, resistance to social media is futile. Millions of people are creating content for the social Web. Your competitors are already there.  An overwhelming number of social web opportunities exist for businesses to create and participate in communities. Businesses struggle to fit the power of the different social networking tools into the professional context of talent management.

At this LEHRN meeting we will investigate the following facts and questions:

  • What factors drive the social media trends in recruiting?
  • How are recruiters changing the way they spend their time and budgets to cope with the current fiscal and employment environments?
  • How do different social networking tools complement/conflict or supplement/supplant each other?  What the roles & differentiators for:

            LinkedIn                                  Facebook
            Twitter                                     MySpace
            Tracked                                   WordPress
            Ning                                         Friend Feed
            Chatter (Salesforce.com)         StumbleUpon (eBay)
            Digg                                         and others

  • The social networks themselves are “getting connected”.  In November, 200 users were linking their Twitter and LinkedIn accounts every minute. How do you leverage such trends?
  • When can a social network deliver ‘professional value’ and not just casual & informal connections?
  • How much skill, time, and money does it take to develop social media campaign?
  • 40 percent of Fortune 100 companies use LinkedIn Corporate Accounts to search for job candidates. 100% use Consumer Accounts.  Learn ways to leverage LinkedIn accounts.
